Best techniche to hunt a squirrel?

The only thing I could add is to be very careful if using a .22. You are often shooting up at squirrel....so make sure you are not anywhere near houses or people. .22s can travel a log way and can do damage when they come down. Be responsible.Best techniche to hunt a squirrel?
the previous answers are correct...but if you not the sit and wait kinda guy and so happen to have a partner with you...do this: locate the squirrel, send the person without the gun to the opposite side of the tree, and the squirrel will avoid that individual and eventually come back to your side and....BOOM...take'em down! oh and dont shoot your friend meanwhile. happy hunting.Best techniche to hunt a squirrel?
Walk through Rutherford B Hayes memorial park in Fremont and when he is eating out of your hand grab him and wring his neck slowly so he feels pain. ( for the tree huggers again) . I like to use a Ameristep doghouse blind, and a Primos Squirrel call. That works like a charm. Those squirrel get so mad and come running toward you. Option 2. Get in your tree stand and pretend to be deer hunting, then you'll see a bunch of them.
JD nailed the bejebus outta this one, the best technique is to wait for the squirrel to come to you, not the other way around. Do a little scouting, find an area in the woods with squirrel food trees, walnut, pecan, acorn, fruit trees etc are all good, then sit there quietly and wait for the little tree rats to show up.
Simplest method. Look for an area with lots of squirrel nests. Still hunt slowly thru this area, stopping often for 3 to 5 minutes or more at a time. When you hear or see them, pop em.

Most important thing first though, look for the squirrel nests, they also love corn, so shelterbelts near cornfields are just as good as places with lots of different nut trees.
The sit and wait approach is good if you can sit for at least half an hour at a time. Lately I use the slow walking method with my wife. We walk with one person 50 yards ahead of the other. The squirells with watch the person in front and the person in back can often get a shot at them. Listen for their chatter or other signs that they are in the area such as nuts and twigs falling. As always when hunting with another person you must be careful to know where they are at all times.
while I agree with these other guys sometimes the squirrel just may not be in your area if you havent had any luck after sitting for a while try the walking aproach . i dont mean just trot through the woods either . take a few steps quietly and and then stop keep a sharp eye out wait take a few steps more this makes you harder to spot than the squirrel if you see 1 and he wont move to give you a shot just wait and he will give you a chance . I have had alot of succes with this technique
Sitting is a good tactic, but its not for me,try walking slowly through the woods, really slow, like your deer hunting,i find it much more satisfying than just sitting still. Its good practice for deer season and you find out which trees are holding more squirrels and which trees tend to hang on to there nuts the longest.Still hunting them is much more fun to me,its a real challenge this time of year.Try both though......good luck
Find yourself a secluded patch of woods with a few Hickory or Oak tree's...Sit still and wait..Patience will pay off when it comes to Squirrel hunting. They key is waiting for ';them'; to move not you......
most of these answers are spot on but the lazy sneaky way i used to shoot them was hang a steel mesh bag full of nuts up on a branch make them work for their nuts, build a hide and take your pot shots ps make sure you dont use plastic mesh theyl just tear the bag and nuts will pour out
