just wondering because they make em with scopes and some are as powerful as a 22 or even more powerfulIs it legal to hunt squirrels with a pellet gun?

Some states allow small game hunting with airguns others do not, you will just have to check. There are some states that allow big game hunting with air rifles as well.

dude a airgun that is a .22 caliber at 1200 fps will run u about 350$ heres ur options for 350$ a remington 870 a mossberg 500 a henry golden boy a henry plain model and pretty much any .22 u want i would pay that much for one but if ur a good shot i saw a .177 cal 1000 fps wit scope beeman rx1 at sportsmans warehouse the other day for 130$
yes as long as your not in the city. different citys have different policys on guns in town. where i live i shot them in town with a 22 using subsonic bullets. Its all fun and games til the cops show up!!!

Within any city limits, it is very likely illegal to hunt squirrels with any kind of gun. In the woods it is should be fine. You'll want to check your state's hunting regulations for verification.

It is legal as long as your pellet gun is over 800 fps. You can also hunt rabbits with it. But it is illigal if you are in city limits with a pellet gun. Happy Hunting.

Yep. Squirrels and rabbits are fair game with an air rifle. Know a couple of people who regularly do ';pest extermination'; at local farms. .177 and .20 are less ';powerful'; but more accurate over distance.

its legal in my state(but then again so is a 50 bmg),a lot of guys are using them now because they say they make less noise then the 22 so the squirrels don't seem to run into hiding every time they take a shot
I would say that if squirrels had pellet guns, everybody would be required to hunt them. It's an issue of public safety.
I've killed 50 and my grandparents have shot over 500.





Mind you we had a orchard of hazel nut trees and they would always try to nest in my grandparents house.

you need to check your state laws. some states, Texas for instance, don't allow hunting game animals with air guns.

We found the best method of controlling Grey squirrels is with a Kania Trap 2000. Lethal, and very effective. You can Google them.
