Hunting Squirrels with a pellet gun/ bb gun?

alright i just want a straight forward answer. I have a crosman G1 extreme pellet gun. I am using ballistic tipped pellets... they are .177 caliber. can i kill a squirrel in one shot because that was why the gun was bought. We enjoy having birds around so we have 2 or 3 feeders by our back porch that get Absolutely demolished by squirrels. They are probably 4 or 5 squirrels at a time. The only problem is that my dad bought the pellet gun to shoot them when he sees them and finds fit. I have a air soft sniper that well im not gonna lie. Its pretty damn nice. It does about 450 fps. I use .24 precision bbs. I have hit the squirrel everywhere from the head to the tail and they wont die.

So i guess my questions are:

1. will an air soft sniper kill it (p.s im getting metal hunting bbs that are pretty heavy i think .40 grams

( i take the shot anywhere from 7 feet to 20)

also will it require hunting bbs

2. will a pellet gun like that take em out instantly?

sorry for the long questions but theres a lot of detaill.

A. Provided you take the shot at a reasonable range (30 yards or less) and you put the pellet into either the head or heart/lung cavity, yes your gun will kill squirrels.

A. Airsoft guns use rubber BBs. They won't kill anything. Last I checked airsoft guns used 6mm airsoft BBs and won't chamber/fire .177 caliber steel BBs.Hunting Squirrels with a pellet gun/ bb gun?

The Crosman G1 Xtreme is fine for squirrel....

%26gt;%26gt;Ballistic tip pellets%26lt;%26lt;

If you're using JSB Predators (?) **These pellets have widely varied results, some rifles shoot them very accurately, others do not...If you're not getting, at a minimum, 3 shot 1in groups at 30 yards, you really need to find a pellet that's more accurate in your rifle %26gt;The G1 Xtreme is fully capable of 1/2in - 3/4in 3 shot groups at 30 yards

Use the pellets your rifle is most accurate with....

Good quality hunting pellets - reasonable price

JSB Exact Domed(7.6gr)

Crosman Premier Domed Light(7.9gr)

Beeman Silver Ace(8.1gr)

RWS Superpoint(8.2gr)

JSB Predator(8.2gr)**

RWS Superdome(8.3gr)

Beeman Silver Sting(8.6gr)

Beeman Crow-Magnum(8.8gr)
-sure it will-when i was younger i used to shoot birds and squirrels with a 760 pumpmaster (i know its not your gun but thats what i used, your gun is probably better)with .177 pellets(sucked to pump it up and load a pellet each time but worked great)get ya a nice little scope and sight it in-with a head shot (or a good chest shot) it will take out your pesky squirrel problem
yes you should be able to, a head shot should do fine, i'm blasting squirrels at 45+ yards with my big cat 1200, just use pellets that are around 8 grs. and you'll be fine
Just remember to eat what you kill- squirrels are a game species, and you need a license.
Air soft is not meant for hunting! Stop wasting your bb's on the squirrels, and let dad take them out with the air rifle!
you do NOT have enough gun. try a .22
lol
well with out knowing how fast your crossman is shooting. I would say yes it will kill a squirl with provision. And that is that you are relatively close and get the thing in the head or heart/lung. Nothing wrong with hitting it a couple of more times for good measure though. I used to hunt squirls with a single shot raven 177 rifle.
Airsoft will not kill a squirrel, just cause it unnecessary harm.

Some pellet guns will take them out instantly. The one you mention is not one of them. You need more power, like a 22 pellet going 900-1,000 fps, not a 177 pellet going 1,000 fps. Your gun MIGHT reach 1,000 fps with a very light pellet like a Beeman Laser. Far less from a heavier pellet.

As for accuracy\y, this Chinese gun may or may not give the consistency of shot placement you require.

You can choose a more accurate, consistent rifle like Benjamin Discovery PCP, then on top of that the increased power still means lights out squirrel for shots you were not quite ';on the mark';.
