Is a .17hmr or a .22lr better for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and coyotes?

i live in tennesseeIs a .17hmr or a .22lr better for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and coyotes?
Dont hunt a coyote with a .22LR. The .22WMR is a better option.

That aside, I really like the .17HMR. You need to get within 200 feet of coyote or so, but the cartridge is very accurate and has enough power to drop coyote and anything smaller. There wont be much left of a squirrel hit with a .17 HMR though. Is a .17hmr or a .22lr better for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and coyotes?
22LR is better for rabbits and squirrels simply because it is more economic meaning you can practice more on tin cans

the 17 HMR is better on yotes, the 22LR just doesn't have yote killing power much beyond spitting distance. The 17 HMR will reach out further, but really not a ton further, definately don't try a yote that is more than 75 yards away.
.17 or .22 is fine for squirrels or rabbits, but generally won't get a quick kill on a coyote unless you use hollowpoints or a pretty ';hot'; .22 round.

If you get a decent ';torso'; shot on a coyote with a .22 LR, up to about 50 yards, the coyote will probably die, eventually -- but won't drop right away.
I would go with the .22 for squirrels and rabbits, the ammo is easier to come by and much cheaper than .17 ammo.

Both the .22 and the .17 are too low powered for a humane kill on a coyote, a .22 Mag is marginal.

.
.17 and a 22 is great for rabbits and squirrels but you CANNOT kill a yotey with a .22 at distance 15yrds unless its a point blank headshot which will never happen.
