When hunting squirrels with a shotgun?

what kind of choke do i put on the gun. When hunting squirrels with a shotgun?
Early in the year when there are lots of leaves on the trees, you want a choke that is more open (i.e. modified, or improved cylinder) Later on when all the leaves are gone, use a full choke as your shots will be farther away and the squirrels harder to sneak up on. Always shoot for the head. Good luck. When hunting squirrels with a shotgun?
Modified is your best choice
I've used every one other than full or extra-full(Turkey) to hunt squirrels. Usually anything from improved to modified is fine. I watched a guy use full choke once and the squirrel looked like it went thru a grinder so stay away from full or extra-full.
For hunting squirrels I use a full choke 410 good luck
You will want the shot pattern to stay as tight as possible.
Full choke will work. Shoot toward the head for close range and it will be fine for all other shots.
I'd personally leave the choke off as a squirrel can take off in all kinds of directions. 3/4 should be fine!
Modified. It will cover all your bases.
