Pellet gun hunting (Squirrels) ?

I have a pellet gun that shoots 500 fps, and im going squirrel hunting this year. I have shot them before but not everytime they have died. What is the best spot to hit them for them to die? Usually When i hit them in the head the run like nothing happened.Pellet gun hunting (Squirrels) ?
If you have a .177 caliber pellet rifle, shooting light weight pellets at 500fps. Your rifle is not powerful enough to hunt small game(IMO)

Muzzle energy

500fps - 6.5gr pellets = 3.61fpe

It takes a minimum of 3.0fpe ';at impact'; with a perfect head shot to kill a squirrel. So, unless you're within a few feet of the squirrel, your pellet will not have enough energy at impact to make a clean, humane kill.

When hunting small game with a pellet gun, use head shots only!Pellet gun hunting (Squirrels) ?
The head is the best spot to kill them cleanly. Aim for the neck and more specifically the spinal cord which is very hard so just aim in that general area. Good luck hunting!
I recommend buying on of those NEW Stoeger, 1500 fps air rifles.
it wont kill it but it will hurt it really badly
the hed neck or like right on the front of there chest is the kill zone

so , then quit using it and get a .22 ...you cant hunt with an air rifle in pa...maybe thats why...
