What would be the best kind of pellets to use for the Crosman Storm XT? more specifically hunting squirrels?

i am currently using crosman premier hollowpoint pellets.

anything with more takedown power i should be using?

thanksWhat would be the best kind of pellets to use for the Crosman Storm XT? more specifically hunting squirrels?
First off, I would like to point out that ';Ben L'; gave you good advice and that is ';The ones your rifle is most accurate with';

You need to try a few high quality pellets to see which ones your rifle prefers(accuracy). Airguns are like fingerprints, every one is different, even if you and I had the exact same make %26amp; model, chances are they would prefer different pellets.

';Generally'; speaking, air rifles in the power range of the Crosman Storm XT(approximately 14.2fpe) are going to perform best with pellets that weigh around 8gr

Good pellets at a reasonable cost

JSB Exact Domed(7.6gr)

Crosman Premier Domed Light(7.9gr)

Beeman Silver Ace(8.1gr)

RWS Superdome(8.3gr)

Domed pellets are generally considered to make the best hunting pellets, since they retain their velocity/energy better than other pellet shapes.

JSB Predators(8.2gr) - Results vary widely with this pellet - Some rifles shoot this one very well, others can't hit the broad side of a barn with it.

IMO, the Beeman Silver Arrow(11.5gr) would be too heavy for your rifle. Your rifle and this pellet would give you around 745fps %26gt;IMO, most pellet rifles perform best(accuracy %26amp; trajectory) at around 900fps. Too slow and you have a poor trajectory, too fast** and pellets become unstable and inaccurate.

**As pellets approach and or exceed the speed of sound they tend to become unstable

Example - RWS 34 - RWS Superdome(8.3gr) - 900fps

If you sight this rifle/pellet combo in at 42 yards - The pellet is 1/2in low at 8 yards - dead on at 14 - 1/2in high at 28 - 1/2in low again at 48 yards - So from 8 yards to 48 yards you would have a maximum holdover/under of 1/2in - that's a very flat trajectory, and inherently very accurate. What would be the best kind of pellets to use for the Crosman Storm XT? more specifically hunting squirrels?
jsb predators are by far the most effective in hunting weighing in at 8 grains they are as heavy as the premier hollow points but are designed to penetrate deep and with the penetrator tip that will eventually flatten out and cause them to mushroom making them by far the most effective and i have no idea what it is but on any game they are most effective by far on squirrels and if you take a head shot it will pass clear through the skull then flatten out causing mass damage and parts of the skull will fly throughout the body because of the pellets high impact check this vid out for more info and a test shot on a squirrel

which ever pellets your gun shoots best! crossman premiers are good! other pellets that i like are rws super domes, jsb exacts, beeman silver arrows , gamo hunters and crossman pointed. some people real like the jsb predators, ive had mixed results. rws super h and beeman crow mags are very devastating but lose accuracy past 20yrds!
I don't know about your state, but in Florida, it is NOT legal to hunt squirrles or any other type of wild game, with a pellet gun
get the heavyest ones you can hit them with
