What air pistol (not rifle) would be good enough for squirrel and rabbit hunting?

i would prefer pneumatic or spring over co2.

would a .177caliber with 430 fps be enough? What air pistol (not rifle) would be good enough for squirrel and rabbit hunting?
Beeman P-1 600fps with the .177

Webley Hurricane or Tempest 500fps in .177%26gt;I prefer the Hurricane

These pistols are not being made anymore, but you can still find them for reasonable prices.

All three are high quality spring piston air pistols.

You're still going to be extremely limited in range, even with the P-1, 30 yards would probably be about the max range for rabbits. 25 yards for the Hurricane/Tempest.

A couple of sites to check out for air guns

I would advise against a 400fps air pistol as a hunting weapon, %26gt;not enough penetration%26lt; it would be just fine for plinking or target shooting

Hunting is an enjoyable hobby. You will enjoy it if you use the right equipment. Your choice of tools will leave a squirrel angry and jumping through the trees. They are tough. You might kill a rabbit (they are very fragile creatures) if you guide your shot using the Force. Rabbits are FAST. No, I really mean FAST. The picture of fast that you have in your head right now is not even close. You will see one, then it will be gone. I have been unable to shoot them with a rifle. I use a shotgun.
You're planning to stalk to within a foot or two of your prey, right? Or watch them dart away squealing in pain?

No commonly available air pistol is going to do the job. You might as well throw rocks.
no, id use a 12 gauge and blow that g o d d a m n f.u.c.e.r. off my property ive done it before.
Possibly, but it certianly would not be very effective!

ATLANIS WILL RISE AGAIN!
