the MV is 750fps with BB's but only 715fps with .177 lead pellets. You're going to have to get very close to make a humane kill.

MV 715fps with RWS Superpoint pellets = 9.31fpe

575fps(with the RWS Superpoint pellets) puts you right at the limit(6fpe) for hunting small game such as rabbit %26amp; squirrel.Do you think that a 750fps Daisy 880 .177 caliber will work good for squirrel hunting?
Yes my son started with one just like it, but range is critical.

Get close as you can before you shoot.

And use a light grain weight pellet to add in retained velocity at close range.

get a 22 cal
Its Possible but your best bet is to go with a 22 caliber that would be the best choice.
I have one of those and shoot regular pellets through it and it couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. The gun might not hit a squirrel a 20 yards. If you hit it, it will probly kill it.
Personnaly, I think a bb is pretty small to hunt with, unless it comes out of a shotgun. It's good for training and targets. Use pellets if you think you have to try to kill something with it, but a .22 is a better choice.
