Is a ruger 10/22 good for squirrel/varmint hunting?

the 10/22 is one of the best mass produced .22 carbines ever made. it will be a great squirrel gun with a modest scope put on it. also great for small varmint under 100yds, but for anything larger than a woodchuck you will have to upgrade to .223 or more.Is a ruger 10/22 good for squirrel/varmint hunting?
Excellent for hunting out to a hundred yards (small game, of course), and one of the most reliable .22 autoloaders ever designed.

Good luck and good shooting! Is a ruger 10/22 good for squirrel/varmint hunting?
With a decent scope on it you have one of the best ';little critter gitters';! They are accurate out to 70yds,or so,and easy to maintain. You can expect very little,if any, problems with them.
Yes, Yes and Yes.

One of the best. but not the best. but is the best for the moneys.
Yes it is. And with so many choices Ruger makes you can find the one that fits you best
Sure, it's a 22.
yes. lots of people hunt squirrel with that rifle.
Yes very good, a better option is a .223
yes it is a great rifle for that.
do you need the food? If not, why kill?
We love ours.
defiantly a good gun for shooting squirrel's....but personal id say get a 12 gauge it does a lot more damage and its a lot more fun to shoot with.

e.g if more that one squirrels are in a close area blow them all away.. that's what we do with the possums in NZ at least
